EAGLE HARBOR WATERFRONT PARK
This newly constructed waterfront park on the shores of Eagle Harbor has become one of the most important civic and social outdoor gathering places for Bainbridge Island residents and visitors. It has increased accessibility, improved stormwater management and creates a stronger connection to the natural beauty of the waterfront. Park features include an expanded boat launch, an accessible dock to support overnight stays by visiting boaters, a kayak rental concession, multi-purpose lawns with views of the water, rowing shell storage and a children’s playground. The changes allow users of the park better access to the water and provide links to Winslow businesses and the ferry terminal. Design and construction delicately integrated park improvements among specimen Madrone and Fir trees. Eagle Harbor Waterfront Park won the 2018 APA Great Places of Washington Award. Completed by Chris Jones, as Principal at Walker Macy.
